my look at it, its taken 60 some odd years to get that way, and if yo dont like it when its done getting painted it will take 60 some odd years to get back like that. wet sand with very fine paper and clear coat for me.

in personal experience, theyre horrible. they dont really follow, if you aren't in sync with the driver your SOL, and if you are over maybe 100 pounds they dont really work. i just ended up parting mine out for the cranks and rim

for the aluminum ones get a hacksaw then file it down, a grinder will cut to fast. the steel forks you can just cut off grind then file smooth

wetsand with some fine sandpaper, but instead of water use wd 40. makes the rust kinda dark and smooth. it looks perfect
