    JUVENILE SKIP TOOTH

Getting it back to original. It's been fun. The fork was broken off at the top of the head tube and the tank had rust holes around one of the "exhaust" ports. I got in in primer before the weather got too cold to paint outside so I'll have to hope for a couple of warm days to do the paint. I...

    JUVENILE SKIP TOOTH

Okay, sorry it won't work for you. But this one I have is original to the 24" JC Higgins which has the Mussleman built "air cooled" rear hub on it. It just has shorter arms on the crank than my other Higgins bikes.

    JUVENILE SKIP TOOTH

I took one off of a 24" JC Higgins so it's a Murray style. 26 tooth, 8 1/2" in diameter from the outer edges of the teeth. I'll post a picture later. $25 plus S&H to the lower 48. Ed

Still searching for a great way to clean parts...

I buy Brake Kleen in a gallon jug. Pour a little into a container and let the parts soak then use a chip brush to massage the stubborn gunk. I have a laundry sink in my shop area and use it to rinse the part. Then blow it dry with compressed air and put something on it to protect it. Every...

    Jude's finds

That frame was used for a number of years. Chain guards, tanks, lights, etc changed over the years. Different combinations resulted in different models.

    It's very blue

Looks way earlier than a 60's era bike. It has a a drop stand rather than a kick stand. I'm going with pre-war.

Rusty nuts etc, how do you open?

I've been having some good luck with a 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF.

FOUND Tank for 52 JC Higgins

The repos have the holes for the horn button in the wrong place. On the JC Higgihs, the holes need to be on the top next to the frame. I've since found an original with a working horn and the correct paint and graphics. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. Thanks for the help. Ed

    Monark built JC Higgins?

Picked this up last Saturday. Don't know that I'll do much except give the chrome an OA bath, take some rubbing compound to the paint, find a tank, and clean and grease the bearings.

FOUND Tank for 52 JC Higgins

I'll try again. Trying to post pictures with this Android is a real PITA. Hopefully these will show up. Ed The tank in the bottom picture is the style that I'm looking for.

FOUND Tank for 52 JC Higgins

I found this bike in Tecumseh,KS complete except for the tank. Here's a picture of the same model with a tank. I guess it wouldn't need the graphics, but.... Looks like my Vermillion red has faded. But from the catalog description, I know the headlamp should be Vermillion. Any leads would...

    Mystery Schwinn solved...

Use the Bikehistory.org site to find the date as well. Simply type in the serial number and it will tell you the day and date. Much simpler than searching Angelfire.

1984 Schwinn Cruiser 5 with new threads

I had the tank, a friend had the fenders, and I stumbled across the chainguard while pursuing a kick back hub. The seat and fork came from the garden bike (I was totally surprised at how well the seat stood up to the winters and summers here in the Midwest). My daughter did the graphics on her...
