    Broken Leg Bomber

    Me thinks these are related.

    3 speed parts

I'm not super familiar with prices for this sort of thing, but age would help. If the parts are for new hubs they are worth less than parts for old hubs. Especially if there are some of those little SA springs. I'm under the impression that Shimano hubs aren't all that serviceable. Its a matter...

    intermission

I know some more stuff that sounds like this, but I don't think the ToS would like it. I'm more than willing to share via PM. To actually contribute, Jel was on most of the tracks from the Mike Patton Project I posted a few pages ago. All Around...

Re: Trail Blazer... And so it begins (again) Looks a bit cleaner now.

    Absolute Speed World Record Bicycle

Not it. I hit 46 mph on a descent the other weekend. I started in on the brakes at around 40 and am confident I could have ended up in the 50-55 range if I didn't poop my shorts. Over three times that would be pretty wild.

    Entertaining Denver and Minneapolis...

I've been in Colorado Springs for a few years. I ride all year with the aid of full fingered gloves and a hat beneath my helmet. Snow rarely stays on the ground for more than 48 hours and the temperature rarely drops below 25. Our weather benefits from the rain shadow of Pikes Peak while...

    Bending/stretching Aluminum frames?

Once aluminum has a shape, it likes to keep it. I can almost guarantee that bending the stays will lead to cracking the frame.

header wrap or handle bar wrap ?

'Cork' tape, gel tape, electrical tape, cotton tape, leather tape, really any 1/2" or so wide tape should do the trick. There are tutorials on youtube that are way more clear than anything I could write. They focus on drop bars, but the concepts apply to any bars.

    First Day of College Classes

To the Dingo, If you get stuck on a problem, use a number line. For reals. As I recall, pre-algebra is all about negative quantities and ratios. You can picture a quantity as a chunk of a number line, then put it left of zero (negative), or chop it into little pieces (ratios). Similar things...

He drafts behind a car. And? It's about seeing how far something can be taken. If you need piles of support to do so, then you need piles of support to do so. The support does not negate the feat, it qualifies it. This guy sets his records by drafting. The guy doing 81 mph sets his by riding...

    Hat/helmet/hair situation when you ride?

I use a cheap helmet from the LBS. I have a hat for post ride. The brain is fairly unprotected considering how fragile it is. I'd be quite upset if I damaged mine.

    Nice day at "work"

Darn! It's been a few years since I've been in that area. I don't believe that you took those pictures in the middle of the day in August. Who stole all the boats?

    Chain break that doesnt break?

I've never tried the Park on a skiptooth, but it doesn't look big enough to hold the links. Hammer, nail/punch, and piece of metal with a hole work with anything. Somebody on another forum had luck with a Park chain tool (CT-7). http://classicbicycles.comuv.com/phpBB3 ... f=22&t=363

    Nice day at "work"

Are those pictures from the Wolfeboro and Alton end of the lake? You must have taken those early in the morning. The lake's never that still this time of year.

    Chain break that doesnt break?

I've had good luck with a Park Tool breaker (CT-3). They have replaceable pins and big handles. I don't think a skip tooth chain fits.

    Good saddle?

Velo Orange makes Brooks knock offs. I've never seen on in person, but everything I've ordered from them is pretty nice. http://www.velo-orange.com/brookssaddles.html If that's too expensive, hard plastic and some miles. I know it's counter intuitive and not popular on this forum, but you get...

Anyone know where to get Mags or Billet Wheels?

http://www.choppersus.com/store/departm ... e-Hub-Rim/ I put an order in with them and accidentally clicked the wrong stem. I got a call the same day asking if I wanted the stem I selected. They noticed everything else in my cart was 1", and the stem was 1 1/8". Good service.

    First road race ever today!

That's super fast. I rode a century with 4,300 ft of climbing in 7:54 yesterday. If I do it again, 6:30 will be the goal. 4:42 would require some serious training for my fatness.
