In our local area you can find those used Razors quite often on C/L form $10 - $25 to use as a parts donor. I always just search "trike" and 'big wheel" in the bike listings.

Is it a one or three piece crank? The crank on my CL Fuji was three piece and I could not get the left pedal loose, even with a cheater bar. It acted like I was going to round of the pedal before it broke loose...then it hit me! I pulled the cap off the end of the pedal, removed the hardware...

AND there was a really nice Bianchi roadbike on our CL yesterday for $100. I emailed about it and it was already sold...too bad, I was going to convert it to a flatbar. There are a lot of great deals here on CL.

The guy was asking $100 very early in the season and was moving very soon, he just wanted it gone. It was absolutely filthy and had never had ANY maintenance (it's an '03). Here are some before pix of the drivetrain.

Bought off CL for $80, have $280 in it total now. New: Cranks, BB, cassette, chain, rear derailleur, tubes/tires, brake pads, cables/housing. Cleaned repack front hub and headset.

Bob the fenders, strip and modify the chainguard (holes, louvers, maybe paint it a contrasting color...some sort of treatment), truss rods for the stock fork, dual side by side headlights, tank insert and Bontrager Hank tires (w/ the white letters like Mastronaut suggested).

Kram, I am 6'2" as well and having the 350 mm seat post AND the added height of a springer saddle helped me fit it pretty well. I never tried the banana seat on it, but now you have me thinking about digging ours back out and trying it. :lol: ...but I really need to get my V star reassembled...

I agree about them being surprisingly comfortable ergonomically, but that saddle and I did not get along. I got a 31.8 seat post and cool looking springer saddle and it was great. We have had ours with about 3 different sets of bars and it did not seem to matter how we configured it, it was...

Nice work Dan. As stated earlier, nice to see someone with your resume' doing this type build. My son talked me into using a slightly bent pair of bars like that for our Klunker build off bike. I like the look with the crossbar and pad.

You're off to a good start by obtaining the right tools, it makes any job easier. My experience has been that you need to be patient and keep adjusting until you get just the right feel to it, no play AND no resistance. A well adjusted old school BB is WAY better than a bargain basement priced...
