    Interesting free bike.

Is that a shimano FFS crankset? I've always though it would be fun to use one of those with a fixed gear rear wheel.

    Fils bike? What is it?

I bet it was made in Taiwan or Japan. That seems where most of the obscure "store branded" bike-boom bikes came from. Cottered cranks on a bike that late as well as falcon components would back that up.

    What are Kend road bikes?

Is it Keno or Kend. Keno was a typical bike boom bike, supposedly made in japan, badged and sold through Wanamaker department store from 1969-1971. Here is an example. Kent bikes probably weren't much different, just another American marketing group slapping their name on imported bikes.

I'd probably offer a bit less and see how the seller reacts. Once you replace the usual stuff like tires, tubes, rim strips, cables...

I agree, it's an imported bike badged for coast to coast hardware stores.

    1968 Double Diamond.

This 1968 racer was pretty rough from sitting outside as yard art so it was a perfect candidate for a mild custom job. I've built it up in the style of a ship yard bike while making use of as many of the original parts as possible. It started out as this. After stripping it down I braced the...
