Started as a 1979 Utility Bike from The Kharkov Bicycle Factory (XB3) that goes by the name Ukraina. Bought back in 2005 for something like 15$.
Features & parts included in the build:
- 1979 XB3 Ukraina frame & fork with headset rbuild mostly from CCCP parts.
- 1979 XB3 Ukraina fenders with custom pinstripes that deteriorated trough the years.
- Front wheel with Sapim spokes & nipples, Velo steel rim, Quando aluminium hub with Shimano 160mm disc brake & Continental Retro Ride tire (28x2.0).
- Rear wheel with Sapim spokes & nipples, Velo steel rim & Sachs Drei Gang 3-speed hub with coaster brake & Continental Retro Ride tire (28x2.0).
- 1979 XB3 Ukraina steering bar & stem. Steering bar turned 180 degrees & upside-down.
- Tektro Augura hydraulic disc brake mounted via an adapter.
- Sachs Drei Gang thumb shifter with custom made wire pulleys.
- 1988 VDO Mono mechanical speedometer.
- Custom "laidback" seatpost.
- Polish-made leather saddle from the early 70's.
- Romet rearview mirror, customized to fit the upside-down steering bar.
- 1979 XB3 Ukraina chromed bell.
- Shimano Alivio BB & crankarms customized to use a single 48T chainring.
- Rebuild VP platform pedals.
- Front light with custom pinstripes, fitted with a USB rechargable Prox Ursa 300lm headlight.
- Rear light fitted with a USB rechargable KLS Proximo rear light.
- Romet chainguard, custom painted in black & white.
