    Interesting French thing

Not sure if I like it but there's a heck of a lot of work in it! More images at: http://cyclea.over-blog.com/

Let's see your Pashley Guv'nor style bikes!

My new bike! My lady is buying it for my 50th in January. I've done the deal, it's just a case of waiting for it to arrive from Italy. Not quite so old school as the Pashley but even more exclusive! Taurus Contropedale in Cyclorama: http://www.cyclorama.net/viewProduct.php?id=397 I can't...

    My Italian Stallion

I'm an experienced, former pro mechanic with some twenty+ years under my belt. I consider myself quite competent, I definitely don't have a history of mashing things. Even so, I still managed to crush the steerer on my Rockshox SID Black Box fork with my FSA 120 stem. A mountain bike fork, so...

    My Italian Stallion

I found this discussion with a search of 'Trek FSA carbon steerer'. http://www.bikeforums.net/archive/index ... 48920.html Particularly this post which appears to be lifted directly from TREK's own guidelines. My highlighting. UPDATED: Service Information - Stems on Carbon Steerers 05/24/2010...

    My Italian Stallion

Wow, that's stunning. Really beautiful. I'm very reluctant to be negative about such a great bike but I wonder if you are aware that there are issues with that style of stem, and that stem in particular, on carbon steerers. My FSA 120 stem crushed the carbon steerer of my Rockshox SID Black...

    What the...?!

Sometimes rarety can have the opposite effect to what you'd imagine. The power of an old thing to generate high prices can also be influenced by there being enough of them around to create a fan base. The Raleigh Chopper never was a rare bike (they made 1,275,000 of them if I recall) and the...

    4 Wheel Car Bicycles

Sturmey Archer now make a five speed internal gear hub with a coaster and reverse if you're interested. I tested one here: http://www.cyclorama.net/blog/ramblings ... nd-things/ Set it up on a jack shaft arrangement (like most tricycle rear ends) and you've sorted your forward gear, rear...

    NuVinci CVT in a Bakfiets

Latest upgrades: Rebuilt box in a mix of 9mm and 12mm water proof and boil proof ply sheet. New weather canopy - just in time for the autumn (fall) rain! I'm still having trouble with the Shi*-no M brakes which are near useless, the front is particularly bad. I dunno what to do about that...

    NuVinci CVT in a Bakfiets

Thanks! It's the first model hub - I got it 'cheap' after the new one was launched. If you get the same one I'll talk you through the installation. It's quite a formidable undertaking. Newer hubs are somewhat easier, apparently, and lighter.
