    First Bike Post....... "The Inmate"

I seem to make out a bike in these photos... '-) afraid you'd be spotted by the fuzz out in daylight? silhouette looks killer and I detect a faint shimmer off of the chainguard.

    please help...

I have a 24" hawthorn looks just like that frame. the pointy rear dropouts are a clue. (Mine's buried in the "to-do" pile) also it looks like a forged schwinn fork, newer 44t sprocket and an old parson's seat. that's my 0.02. (I think I hear it asking for whitewalls... ) ;-)

Problems with Crossbow's Monarch Springer Forks

I ran into a lot of the same issues but something about these forks I found odd. most older stems are 21.1 and the tube for this took a 22.2 stem out of the box? most of the cool 7/8" (handlebar) BMX stems I like using are 21.1 and I had to get a tioga BMX headset nut to take up the difference...

    Need help identifying this?

26X1 3/8 front. cheng shin white wall. funny thing about that rim/tire. I found that rim in the shop and thought it was perfect... except for the hollow quill axle. in order to get a small axle on that rim I had to use 1/4 inch bottom bracket bearings to make up the difference in race size. it...

    Need help identifying this?

So now that we are at least in agreement that this is a schwinn built, I'll corn-tinue: I wanted to try a lowered springer fork since I had not ridden one before. I set out to collect parts: 24" wheels from a china-mart tiki bike and some 24X3 tires. got the frame powder coated satin...

    Need help identifying this?

I found these in the Tarpon scrap yard: the gold one is a columbia built... my question is with the red one? if I go by the numbers and placement thereof it would be a 50 schwinn and the dropouts, chainstays to BB seams etc look schwinn-like (alot like the wife's 54) but the chainring...

    KHS for father's day

So again I'm being the mad scientist and digging thru the garage. I had purchased a couple of complete bikes for parts as I could get them cheaper as a whole than buying the parts individually. I found a western flyer springer front I'd purchased about a year and a half ago and that became the...

    Shamu Bike from Busch Gardens...

O yeah... the only thing worth winning at the carney games is the bicycle. it isn't much to look @. and following in the trend I have set for myself I haven't taken before pics. so I harvested some from craigslist. some people are high when it comes to bike prices. and I was going to...

The wife came home with that... it was black and red so I thought it would compliment. I think she got it @ china mart although I didn't want to know. they killed three bike shops this year and almost did mine in.

Early Mother's day... '54 Schwinn hornet

Cranks are 175MM redlines with sealed bearings (purchased off of ebay) santa ana GT spider and a 43T tuff neck chainring. both made in USA. I'm scoping out a two-tone GT chainring to match but that's in the future. 1/2 X 1/8 purple chain is KMC and also off of ebay. I did have an authorized...
