This bike is gonna stay with me, hard to find a good antique around here with all the other Ohio boys snatching them up  . As for cleaning it, that'll be a winter project, for now I'm gonna look for the missing pieces.

Sure, the ends are bent on all four though. Shoot me a pm. Well, if someone wants to trade me a decent tank for them straight up I'd be a happy camper :D

Had to ditch the tags, sorry guys. Went through the bearings and trued the wheels this morning, gonna ride a 15-20 mile critical mass this Thursday on it. I got curious, broke out the mothers. What the paint USED to look like.

Finally some pics: It may clean up alright, but for now I'm gonna leave it grungy. Cool Goodyear tires, in pretty good shape. Gotta love the Dayton tags in the rear wheel. I'd love to find a similar condition tank for it, and maybe a rocket ray headlight(can't afford the correct one), but...

It's been a long time since I've found a cool bike, this one kinda found me today at work. Of course no camera with me. Missing the tank, headlight, and rear reflector, but otherwise all there. Both tires are Goodyear double eagle, in pretty good shape. I'll post an update with pics later tonight.

    The "fastest cruiser bike"

The dude rode like a quarter mile kinda fast on a tall geared bike, big freaking deal. There's a million guys and gals out there that would blow his butt off the road with little effort. Let's see what his average speed is for twenty miles, I guarantee he can't even hold that cadence for 5...

No name, no budget, no worries

Alright, finally came up with a mock up that I'm happy with. I would love a slick in the rear, but I keep telling myself not to spend any money, just improvise. So I guess it's nearly done, a little paint work on the forks, hunt for the chain/grips/pedals and I'm good to go.

Re: Switching bikes, breaking rules?? Decided to move this into the regular build section. It's a modded frame and it doesn't belong in the build off. Will post pics as I make more progress....

Re: Switching bikes, breaking rules?? Started digging through parts last night and found an old 7 seatpost that actually fits the frame. After some thought I figured out that a certain metric socket fits the small OD of the seatpost and the large ID of the seat guts, DIY seatpost shim! And...

Re: Switching bikes, breaking rules?? Two people on board, now as long as the other 76 hundred something members are cool with this I'm in good shape  Started playing around with seats, bars, and stems last night and found a combo I like. The old art deco stem was stuck in the fork...

Re: Switching bikes, breaking rules?? Ok, I put the bike together and rode it last week, and decided that I've done nothing but waste my time and money. Why build a bike if I'm not going to ride it? Now, I want to start a different build, but it's up to you if I'm breaking the rules. Here's the...

Re: No Name Yet (ALMOST A ROLLER) Yeah, that probably is my best option for the steer tube, I think I might even have some pipe that'll work perfect for the sleeve. That illustration should be made into a sticky for the "how to" section, pretty cool! Another trip out to the welder this weekend...

Re: No Name Yet (ALMOST A ROLLER) More baby steps. Plain Jane ugly sprocket. A little less ugly sprocket. Cheapo bar ends. Weld on drag bars. Almost a roller. My biggest hurtle is finding a die to cut more threads in the steer tube. May have to visit a machine shop.

Re: No Name Yet (progress pics) Yeah, the sprocket is all wrong. I'm gonna see what I can dig up. Cman, you're absolutely right, one of the 5 spoke columbia sprockets would match the gussets, wish I had one :(

    Rat Riders Monthly Rides Ohio

I'll be there this Sunday as long as the weather is nice. Gonna try to get my build off bike together for a test run.

Re: No Name Yet (6/21) Ok, got a little more work done this morning. Cleaned up the welds on the "seat", and decided to leave all the gusset welds alone. It looks kinda cool, and I'm flat out too lazy to smooth them all out  . I've decided to toss out the skinny 27" wheel and go with a...
