Here's another idea. I bought this one on CL for $15. So far it has worked out. I counterbalanced it on the back end of the pipe where the clamp is with some old workout weights to prevent it from falling forward just in case. My wife's nephew working on his bike.

That's California for ya! The prices of "vintage" and "antique" bikes are really ridiculous here. I pretty much stopped looking on CL for old bikes because of that.

I say you clean it up, lube it and ride as is. Find a "hot-rod" shop. They might have an English wheel. Ask them to roll your fender.

$100 for that bike is a steal, especially here in CA.

A buddy of mine has a similar one that's been in his shop for a while. He took it out and told me that I could have it. I also could have gotten another one for free from an estate sale. However, the only issue with them is that they suck up a lot of energy, and they're HEAVY!!! Great...

I don't understand why you'd cut up the bike and not sell it or give it away? You put time into it and it's a great looking and different bike from the rest. Someone else could have enjoyed that bike. I, for one, would have loved to have a bike like that. To each his own, I guess.

Just googled images of a B6 and my bike closely resembles it. Looks like I'll be leaving the Hornet decal off the chainguard. Now, if I could only find some truss rods that will fit...
