    Tilting e-trike

I put the Duro 3.00 x 16 motorcycle tire that was originally on my electric drift trike onto the left drive side of the trike today. Although the throttle accleration curve still needs tuning, it increased the traction which reduces the amount of off the line spinning, although starts are still...

    Tilting e-trike

Here's a few update pics. It's all up and running now. The trike develops some notable G-forces on acceleration. I'm really impressed with the hill climbing ability considering it's not really geared down much. With the controller in the 60amp mode, it likely tops out about 50kmh with the pack...

    Tilting e-trike

Here's the finished upgrade. I lucked out and was able to weld the caliper mount directly to the centre bearing mount after I moved the disc over a small amount. I changed out the 3 speed free wheel in favour of a 7 speed, I'll have to get a larger front chain ring as I'd like to be able to keep...

    Tilting e-trike

Hurray! The postal stike is over and they seem to be caught up with the backlog as my drive sprocket and adapter arrived. Everything looks like it will work together as anticipated. The caliper mount will be easy enough to fab, but as there's no longer an axle housing to hang it on, I'm not sure...

    Tilting e-trike

Thanks, looking forward to having it up and running again. Unfortunately Canada Post is on strike and the parts to carry on with the build have been sitting in the depot, behind picket lines here for a month already. I don't want to weld on derailer, caliper or motor mounts until I have...

    Tilting e-trike

Back with an update on this (ongoing) side project: Athough I really miss riding this thing, I finally got around to setting aside the time to purchase a set of 3 self-aligning HD bearings and started on the fabrication to get it operational. Although usually easier to add, fwd tends to spin...

    Ebike Battery Tank

Shape some styrofoam to outline the shape then wrap the whole area in kitchen Cling wrap, stretch cheap fuzzy polyester fabric over it, use a paint brush to soak the fabric with epoxy resin and then cut it off to make a base to work from. You can build up layers for thickness then shape and finish.

    Scratch built eBobber

Thanks! The seat is about the only thing I didn't make (an eBay find) but I did everything else; frame/fork/fenders/handlebars/wheel build, etc. I really like the remote throttle box which allows me to use a real motorcycle twist grip, sure beats a thumb throttle. White wall tires would have...

    Scratch built eBobber

Completed the second panel and spacer today. I decided to punch a couple extra ventilation holes on this side. Next up it to paint the new metal work gloss black and put mesh in behind the holes.

    Scratch built eBobber

With the practice panel out of the way, (and a little more experience) onto the real deal! I swapped the crank handle on my bead roller out for a 14" wheel which makes tracking the line much easier. I also learned on Youtube that pre=stretching the panel helps reduce warpage when using the bead...

    Scratch built eBobber

Started working on the battery cover/door this past week or so. The box already has a piano hinge along the left side, I picked up some .120 x 3/4" flat bar and hammer formed the perimeter frame of the access door. I also fabbed four tabs to secure the door with 10/32" bolts. I bought the bead...

    Scratch built eBobber

Here's one of the side distractions that's stealing time away from my buggy build. Scratch built electric moped in an ol' school bobber style. Lithium powered, 84v 60amp sine wave controller, cable style motorcycle throttle, motorcycle rims and tires laced to HD hubs with butted spokes. I'm...

    Tilting e-trike

Sorry, the build got shelved for the past couple of years, still sitting in my workshop, still complete waiting to be finished. Turns out when I welded the rear section together the four axle bearings no longer lined up perfectly and caused the rear axle to be constantly flexed which created...

    Ebike motors for 110mm spacing

This thread is about a year old, just wondering if you were able to complete your build? I have 3 of these 110mm sized motors left that I had custom made for me by QS Motors. I regularly pump 4k watts through them, super tuff hot rod hub motors if you are still looking.

    My Hero. Lol

Sheldon Brown will always be the standard of bicycle information I am sure. I am living on the west coast of Canada most bike stores here don't even carry 26" tires anymore and look at you funny if you ask. I ordered the correct tire from Aliexpress, I used a 700cc tube that I had already. It...

    My Hero. Lol

If you mean China, that's correct. It is a Hero brand built in 2006 according to the sticker. At least it looks like you can get your crank cotter pin out if you need. Mine is broken off and no way will it come out. Other than that the bike is near mint. Good thing my friend doesn't know that...

    My Hero. Lol

This is a Hero brand Chinese replica of an 1880's British bicycle I ended up with from my local Re-cycler friend. It was missing a back tire and needed a bunch of minor things done/simple adjustments, almost like someone bought it for display but never rode it. One of the brake pads was loose...

    Tilting e-trike

Sorry, have been working on other projects (scratch built stationary bike trainer, house renos, etc) but plan to get back to this. I have begun to build up the tail box with styrofoam sm to create rear fenders and bodywork which will be covered with fiberglass/epoxy. I'll post updates when I get...

Debut eBike build underway - 'BLUE BAMBOO' stretch cruiser

Sorry my mistake, I seem to have I skipped over where you actually stated it was not connected. Those are great lights, I have some too. Damn optical illusions.. :wondering:

    Landspeeder

Thanks guys. It needs a bit of finishing and paint. My new 84v pack is too long to lay down in the bottom of the frame so more mods to come. At 5k watts it's not necessarily for the faint of heart. I used a rear hub motor from Golden motor.ca which has a disc mount one side, freewheel the other...
