    Almost finished...

I inherited (rescued from the bed of my dads dump bound truck) my moms old Centurion Lemans Elite. A picture of what the bike looked like new (not mine, but exact same color scheme) The original plan was to build up a track racer to run at the velodrome here in boulder but looking a the...

    Schwinn DX...

I went in thinking it was a 1956-ish, but thought something was up when the skiptooth reared its head. It's in a lot better condition than I expected based on the phone pics. The guy is moving in a few days and wants to unload as much as possible, so I offered him 100...Eventually, he took 120...

    Schwinn DX...

Newest addition to the stable...guessing by the serial, it's pre-'48'. Sweetheart skiptooth, new departure coaster hub. Will make for a fun project for a graduation gift for my kid sis this summer. And one of "next to newest"...my Mom's old Centurion Lemans, converted to flip-flop single...

    1956(?) Schwinn DX...

Bought for $120...sweetheart skiptooth new departure model d rear wheel. Looks like drop center rear, but front is wide flat profile. Tons of cool factor. Can't wait to get started. Serial number on b.b. B94914. Older than 56 I'm guessing. Looks like maybe pre 48?

    1956(?) Schwinn DX...

Is there a trick to id wheels? S2, S5, and S7 are the main Schwinn types, yes?

    1956(?) Schwinn DX...

I am going to look at a 56(?) DX this afternoon, and was wondering if price is ok??? Guy wants $150.00 for it...He guessed at the age...I will be able to get a serial number when I see it in person. It's in rideable condition, complete with fenders, chain guard, and basket on front, but looks...

    Burrito Con Cebollas...

The newest photo. Frame with cranks mounted...only needs gussets, and will be ready for paint.

    Burrito Con Cebollas...

Framework is most of the way done. Need to weld in bottom bracket hanger, seat post tube, and gussets...took it down the driveway and out into the street, and I actually got it to flip a U-turn in half the street width. Ended up at 78" wheelbase and 3" clearance.

    Burrito Con Cebollas...

A few update photos of the "Cebollas"... 79" wheelbase with about 2"-2.5" of clearance under the belly. I also managed to butt the two fenders from the Iverson together to make a streetsweeper style rear fender, and used the rear fender of the Schwinn for the front. Will fab a new bracket to...

    Up-side-down-girls-fixed-gear-townie....thing...

NICE!!! Glad to see it can be done...though I thought I might have a shot at being "innovative" hehehe  I just hope mine turns out HALF as nice looking as Olli's did.

    Up-side-down-girls-fixed-gear-townie....thing...

I bought this frame with the intentions of chopping it into part of my "Burrito Con Cebollas", however when I got it up on my work table for disassembly, I noticed a cool bit of geometry that I have not seen before, so it became a project in itself. I am planning on stripping, flipping, and...

    Burrito Con Cebollas...

Finally managed to get some more work done on the frame...used gas pipe to form the new top tube and belly tube. Formed the seat tube around to meet the seat stays, and got the hook put in the down tube. Will try to fab up some chainstays tomorrow, and then the welding begins...

    Unidentified Rolling Mutt

Not sure what the "droupouts" look like on a Cleveland Welding Co., but the frame shape looks like one to me.

    Burrito Con Cebollas...

After much thought, and even more beer, I have another plan for the girls schwinn. It won't end up getting cut (too drastically) afterall, though the frame is going to get altered a bit. Once I am done with the burrito, it will be my next projett. I figured that I could fab the rest of the...

    Burrito Con Cebollas...

The scallops will be cutout (rather than painted on) and the gaps will probably be larger for the sake of saving bit of weight...maybe plasma some flames in instead...hmmm.

    Burrito Con Cebollas...

Started as a 63 Schwinn ladies frame and a 70's-80's (?) Iverson ladies Grand Touring... Cut the Iverson apart and have a rough layout on the floor... The sketch of what I am hoping it will resemble once I am finshed  Will have a 3-speed rear with a "shoulder breaker"...

    a gravity bike build

Was just over at g-bikes site looking at pics of some of the rides...my question is: Doesn't having an open hole for a bottom bracket create a weak spot right in the center and bottom of your frame where you would hope most of your center of gravity would be??? Or is an open bottom bracket...
