I have a bike that was a freebee but the shifters are crap. what will it take to change it to a 3spd. will a bmx tapered crank set work and will I have a issue with chain line. thanks for all help!

I've had a few of these that I put on a extra long nanner seat from ebay and some apes to make a big boy sting ray and posted em on Craig's list and were gone within 2 days.

Nice save!!. It's crazy what people toss out as trash. But without them we would not get these great finds.

tanksalot... one man's scrap is another man's diamond in the ruff!!. the shifters are in good shape. The playbike will be a pretty easy fix but the chopper that's another story, don't know if the fork can be saved and finding another might be tuff + a chain guard. Moshnmore... good eye, it is...

Saved a few to hopefully get them back on the road again! Eastern chopper? looks like a Raleigh to me. with backwards bent fork and pretty crusty Columbia play bike 1968 ruff and missing the 3spd rear wheel, has a coaster on it Mongoose expert year...

I have a heavy duty that has grease certs in the steer tube & bottom bracket. ran the serial # with no luck, any idea what year they did this ?

B607..... Thanks for the info. on that website it had better photos and found the racer in this photo, the decals on the top tube and the one on the seat tube with what looks like a top hat with a ring around it look the same so may have add on stainless fenders and chrome guard from another...

Got this bike from eBay with local pickup but haven't had much luck with finding out the model. serial # shows 3/8/1960 off of classic Schwinn.com but the photos didn't show this one. only the speedster was close.

The bike was welded to a fence as yard art and when they sold the property it was removed with a torch:39: Yes sir I was pretty bummed the other wheel was gone. not shure how hard they are to come by maybe one will show up on feebay!

Picked up this 26'' mongoose from a scrapper friend. got some nice parts, I might try to swap to another frame for a clunker build.
