The Mothership AKA '08 kiddie krate

Yeah that is a sweet bike... I wish we had them here... I want a Basman346... But I'll tell you what. Some time I hope to accompany my mom on a labradoodle delivery trip to Holland, and when that happens, we'll have to meet up, and see if we can't learn a few things together...

    Monark frontend modifiers ..Help

The only thing I could see running into with your curved fork setup, stretch, would be some lead/trail alignment issues. THe monarch forks are straight because the piece that goes between the front and back parts gives your front thire the same offset as iff you had a curved standard fork on it...

This thing is sweet, man. You may want some welding skills, but I wouldn't mind some metalworking/shipbuilding skills like you got...

    BLAST OFF RULES

Yeah... The main reason I wanted a no voting approach was I pictured 5 or 6 guys doing this, not 20... ANd to be easier on steve... Deadline isn't really set in stone, well I guess it is. I guess we just wanted to see what we could come up with in a month and a half...

    Stretchliner-Done. Not "finished", but done.

Tires are 24x3. I heated up the fork tubes with a torch and squeezed them with channellocks to give me fork clearance. On the back, I already had the frame cut apart, so I bolted up my wheel and welded it all back together to fit right.

Nice! Nice job man. And a nice "lunar" field for your pictures. Maybe that's where NASA did their "moon landing" pics too. In a nice virgin snowfield.

Thanks man. It's one of my favorite bikes to ride right now. It is verry ratty. That's why I'm not trying to paint it or anything else. I'll leave it. Warts and all.

    Stretchliner-Done. Not "finished", but done.

So my bike probably doesn't belong in the "finished" section, because there is no finish. But it is done. For now. Mods: Cut a Western Flyer Spaceliner-type frame, Used tubes from a murry girl's bike to extend lower stays. USed an old ballooner fork to make seatpost tube/seatpost, flipped...

    Basman buildup from Germany

If you order from the U.S., be prepared to pay some hefty duty. They are imported/sold by firebikes, who doesn't(or at least didn't) include that in their hefty shipping fees...

    40's ELGIN (EDNA'S BIKE)

Re: Prewar Girls Bike ?ELGIN? Elgins were a sears brand... I just bought a set of skirtguards, chainguards, and fender from an old Elgin that are Identical to this one. And the solid sprocket, Definitely Elgin.
