    1941 Dodge Luxury Liner

I found an amazing deal on a set of Coker tires today (not from Coker) and I also picked up a matching 16" rim. :D http://store.cokertire.com/tire-styles/bias-ply-tires/blackwall/600-16-coker-classic-blackwall.html

    Drum vs Disc brakes?

The only problem with using those spin on adapters is that you have to use a rear hub on the front and have to spread the forks a lot to get it to fit. I made some 16" disc wheels with those adapters a while back, I used a standard rear hub on the front and a flip/flop on the rear with a disc...

    1941 Dodge Luxury Liner

I got the back patched up but every time I feel like I'm making progress I keep finding more bad spots. I'm fine with a few pinholes here and there because I want it to be somewhat ratty but I also don't want to drop my wallet through a hole in the floor while I'm doing 60mph on the highway...

    Drum vs Disc brakes?

I think they both look good but it really depends on what kind of bike. I don't want to see a pre war Elgin with 8" hydrualic disc brakes front and rear and a 9" travel DH mountain bike just wouldn't look right with drums.

    1941 Dodge Luxury Liner

I'm not going to paint the outside but the inside and the floors are going to get a thick coat of rust stop black paint to keep the rust from spreading any more. So far my plans are to fix the brakes (they don't work at all), find another 16" wheel for the left rear because it has a 15" on it...

    1941 Dodge Luxury Liner

I got the front seat out so I could get a better idea of how bad the floors are, rusty 70 year old bolts are never fun to get out. There are a couple spots under the back seat that will need replacing and the drivers side under the front seat up to the pedals is pretty much ready to fall apart...

    1941 Dodge Luxury Liner

I found a huge old AM radio in the back seat that is stamped MOPAR but I don't think it went in this car, it looks late 40's early 50's and there's no evidence of it ever being mounted on the dash.

    1941 Dodge Luxury Liner

It runs and moves but it needs some brake work and some decent tires before I'd actually drive it.

    1941 Dodge Luxury Liner

After searching craigslist heavily for the last couple weeks I finally found a new summer project! I picked up a 1941 Dodge Luxury Liner with original running 218 i6 flathead, fluid drive transmission and suicide doors. It has some rust but hey, it's a 70 year old car that still runs and I bet...

Your 440 has that mexican blanket seat right? Props to you for that, but I had to steal the idea. Mexican blankets look good on everything.

    Best Type of welding??

For most bikes MIG is fine, like Fatboy said wirefeeds are cheap and usually easy to get. If you want to start doing high end titanium roadbikes TIG is the way to go, it's more expensive than a wire feed MIG and it's also a little harder to get proficent at but you can lay some super clean tight...

Which rims to use..? Choice of 3!

I would use #3. You might be able to fix the first one with a rubber mallet or use a piece of wood and a hammer to beat the dent around. I've had motorcycle rims like that and have had good luck fixing them. :D

    anyone make 26x3.00 white walls?

Kilz is a type of paint made to block mold that is super durable. http://www.masterchem.com/masterchem/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=62de90033f9ff110VgnVCM1000008a05d103RCRD

    Opinions Needed for concept build.

I like the last design, the 26" front and 24" rear gives it that motorcycle look and also makes it look a little more proportional to the rider. 8)

    anyone make 26x3.00 white walls?

The Kilz method is supposedly one of the best ways to make whitewalls. I know some hotrodders who painted their tires with Kilz a few years ago and it still looks good. They prefer it over actual whitewall paint.
