Schwinn Starlet - Educate me, please!

I'd forgotten about baking soda neutralizing acid. Let's see what I find when I crack it open, Going to try to do it this afternoon.

Schwinn Starlet - Educate me, please!

I have noticed the blue/red thing and always wondered the same thing! I'm going to suck it up and open the tank. I'm taking the bike to work with me tomorrow and hopefully I don't find 15 year old corroded batteries. At worst, maybe I can replace the battery tray and wiring and the horn still...

Schwinn Starlet - Educate me, please!

I got this adorable Schwinn Starlet from a great old man who had been riding it for years. It was originally owned by his neighbors wife and they gave it to him because it was easier for him to ride a ladies bike like a step-through. He had to stop riging it because of a knee replacement so it...

It doesn't need anything. The tires are the original BADGED Schwinn tires. It's literally 100% and it's been a rider for a sweet old man. Now for me! 8)

    New Southern Chick

  Her name is Betty Bottomfeeder. And you nailed her exactly. She has a sinister look especially going down the road. Her front bumper is only about 3 inches off the asphalt.

Thank you! :D The black beast is hubby's 51 caddy. It's sweet! 5 inch chop, lots of drops and channeling. Original drivetrain but wuth a 58 caddy tri-power. Here's a full pic..

New addition. The original rear wheel is being re-spoked. I'll need new clutch cable to hook the shifter back up, but I've been cruising around the powdercoat shop on it.

I did a gravity run ONCE. And I mean ONCE. We used to ride offroad on some pretty brutal trails. I had a Raleigh hybrid. One of our group told us about this sweet downhill run. He suckered us into it. There were a few homemade bikes, a couple of recumbents and a handful of people on hybrids like...

Really? I can try. I can read up on shipping a bike in the meantime...

    Crank Removal HELLLPPP!!

:D The black one would make an excellent gravity bike. It would also make a killer extended - fork style chopper! But, neither bike is my 'style' so they need new homes. In fact - the front forks on the black one are shocks. I haven't even been able to find any info on them.

    Crank Removal HELLLPPP!!

Well, thanks to everybody's replies, I now have a game plan. Support the crank, BFH (my favoriter tool besides zip ties) and a big WHAM. I have two Raleighs. I'm going to part them out, but I'm going to check compatability and see if they have better cranks. They're late 70's BMX bikes.

    Crank Removal HELLLPPP!!

Ha ha! Okay. Mind blown. I have never done this before so you just dropped my jaw. Once I get the one crank arm off, and start pulling it apart, this should make more sense. I'll try the penetrating oil and hammer version first. If that fails after enough tries, I may look for another crank...

    Crank Removal HELLLPPP!!

Or maybe I'd be better off changing the crank out completely. I actually tried hammering the threaded ends sticking out, but they didn't budge. My have to pb blast them and try hitting them harder.

btt I haven't forgotten! Getting a powder coating biz off the ground is taking up all my free time and I haven't found a shrink wrapper yet - I don't want to buy one. I might get plastic sheeting and cut it into strips and tape it firmly. Think that would work??

My first "BUILD" - **Purple Nurple**

Well, shiznit. Turtle64 poked fun at me for disappearing but I can't figure out how to get the pedals off and the crank out. I started a thread in the How To forum. Here's the link for anyone who might have an idea.... viewtopic.php?f=3&t=60158
