Anyone ever replace 27 inch wheels on Schwinn Suburban with 26 x 1.75 wheel and tires? I would like to use a 26 inch free wheel rim and still use the ten speed capability. Any clearance issues?

My 10 speed had the drop bars on it but I changed to the touring bars...like the more upright riding position.

I made the wood tank from two pieces of 3/4 oak plywood and stained with light oak....tried to get kind of "woody" effect with Ron Jon decal.

Nice job. I know these old Schwinns are heavy but I think they look nice and I really like how they ride.
