An important message to Rat Rod Bikes members

I'm not terribly attached to any BMX bikes, with the possible exception of gen 1 GT Mach Ones and Skyway T/As (you'll know them because they are the most beautiful diamond frame bike ever made). Save the T/As

If you like/or play video games

I bought a PS3 today in anticipation of GT5. Tony Hawk Pro Skater and Gran Tourismo have motivated ALL of my PlayStation purchases.

My wife has a similar set of Hurley slip ons and I have some skulled Converse slips as well. I don't post on The Come Up, I refuse, at the time I was doing my own thing (bmx.mysticnegro.com) and running atlbmx.com (which I've since quit) I figured that was enough BMX interwebs action for one...

I showed my wife that pic of you on The Come Up and her first question was, "is he wearing skull shoes?" (The Mrs. has a thing for skulls) I'm with the "keep the front brake" brigade obviously: My Eastern Element supposedly clocked in at 27lbs stock, since then I've thrown on Odyssey...

    gravity bikes

This was really big in the '80s with professional BMXers. It got to the point where Hutch released a limited edition, fully faired downhill bike towards the end of their existence. I think Diamond Back may have also released a bike. Here are some pics of the Hutch GPV (as well as the HPV...

That's not a bad bike. $ for $ the cruiser's probably the better buy but for that price I can't fault the 720 (especially given that that's $AU). This is the thing I'll say to anyone who googles it (we don't have ABD bikes in the states) and sees that it's not a full cro-mo frame, the...

anyone play with photoshop type stuff?

Here's an album of some playing around in GImP I did with some pictures I took. There are a lot more manipulated photos scattered around the bmx side of my site, but these were the easiest to find... http://mysticnegro.com/BMX/Images/gimp_ ... index.html

Thanks. I actually found this place thru your (excellent) blog (which I found thru Wired). I guess what I'm saying is that my future money and time problems are all your fault ;)

Actually I kid, my wife's always super supportive when I get an artistic wild hair and want to create something. Plus, of the two of us she's the more mechanically inclined, she's probably going to be the one who ends up putting everything back together.

Are those *REAL* Shimano DX pedals? There was a time when those things would go for several hundred bucks. There's a reason all modern BMX pedals are DX clones. Best Pedal Ever. Also, two-tone A'me Tris, niiiiiiiiiiice.

Ha! So far it's done fine by me. I'd change some things, but the bang for buck was pretty high. That being said, I'm semi looking for a cruiser or a jump oriented MTB as a general runabout/street bike. The new WTP cruisers look niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

My Eastern Element clocked in at right around 27lbs w/o pegs it cost about $400 brand new, which is about the cheapest you're going to find a full cromo F/F bike these days. It's probably a little lighter than that now, but I spent more on upgrades than the bike originally cost to get it there...

Hi, my name is George (hi George) and I stumbled across this site through random intewebtube referrals and I must say, uhm, I'm hooked. Not so much that I'll be building any old style cruisers anytime soon (although at least two people I've sent this URL to are in the process of building up...
