Chopped Cranbrook - First build ever

Thanks for the input, everyone. Truth is, my fork design is in serious jeopardy if I don't figure out a proper way to weld it. My problem is, I've got an arc welder. I'm pretty sure this won't present a problem with the frame itself. But the delicate pipes attaching to the fork will be toast...

Chopped Cranbrook - First build ever

A loose mockup of my new fork. I'm not fully confident in my welding just yet, need a little more practice.

Best method to plug holes in BB/Head tube

That's the little trick I was looking for. Thanks!

Best method to plug holes in BB/Head tube

Some of the holes can be reused, but not all. I had considered how hard it would be to weld over them. I wasn't sure I could cover a gap that big with nothing but a welding rod.

    Felt El Guapo 10/13 Lamborghini

Re: Felt El Guapo 6/8 Sprocket issue and Streamers Excellent bike, and great scenery too. It's like the roaming gnome.

    Masor's Customs

The two Rat Bobber bikes look like you left the old bottom bracket and just cut the crank arms off. Is that correct? Pretty cool, I thought about doing something like that. I like how you built ratty bikes and finished show bikes, instead of just sticking to only one style.

Best method to plug holes in BB/Head tube

I'm reusing the head tube and BB from an old bike in my new build. They both have holes that line up with the old frame parts. What's the best way to patch these holes? I have my own ideas, but I want to know how others have done it.

    Alco Villager "3" Complete makeover!

The seat adjustment is so simple, it's genius. Your dad better be making money from this, would be a waste for more people not to enjoy his builds.

    Alco Villager "3" Complete makeover!

This is the kind of attention to detail that I could stare at for an hour. The chain guard alone would make my 'top 10 coolest ever' list. Good job getting perfect tension on all three chains. Your father is an old world craftsman.

Chopped Cranbrook - First build ever

The bottom bracket will be relocated. If the rain lets up, I'm ready to start welding tomorrow.

Chopped Cranbrook - First build ever

Here is my first bike build ever, a 24" Ladies Huffy that was donated to the city trash pickup. The wood block in the center is 3" tall, represents where the bottom of the new frame will be. This ugly dumpster refugee was going to be my first attempt. Instead, it's just a donor. All...

Ladies Schwinn build for my wife

Very nice bike, but I really love that Mach 1.

    shifter with hidden cabling??

Has anyone made any progress on this? I had this same idea, was hoping to find someone who had done it before. I had considered using parts of an 3-speed grip shifter to solve the indexing problem, then adapting it to a twist throttle mechanism. But that doesn't solve the problem of actually...

    Sears Ladies 3-Speed

Is this a Shimano 333 hub?

    Sears Ladies 3-Speed

This castoff bike is my new project. Please help me identify the frame and the 3-speed hub. The shifter is a old Shimano piece. The head tube has a faint 'Sears' label visible.

    Wheel rim disc brake?

I tried a search to see if this had been done, but I didn't find that one. Very cool, and the girder-style fork is great too.

    Wheel rim disc brake?

Check out these disc brakes, with the disc attached at the wheel rim. I've seen this on custom motorcycles, but never on a bicycle before. I have my own ideas about how to attempt this. How would you do it?

Noobie question: Head tubes & Bottom brackets

So, with a proper piece of steel tube, I could use the bearing cups from virtually any scrap bike?
