Who are you? (with a bike of course)

My first build off bike for build off 15. Me and the Muffler Man at Brown’s Tire in Wichita Kansas. A very small cantilever frame with a 26” wheel set. I enjoy the juxtaposition of the of the bike, muffler man and myself in reference to their size. The bike looks small in a photo without a human...

Badge decision 🤔 Mount the badge as-is/original condition? Touch up the Black & White and mount? Change White to Metallic Rose Gold & Black t/u?

Some small but simple updates. I got the electrical tied up underneath the seat for the skull taillight. The switch was able to be mounted with very easy access. My wife found some great Velcro “zip ties” that are working out well. I didn’t want to get complicated with it. I blacked out the...

I’m liking the idea of using tape for texture to the frame. Fun possibilities 😎

If you have any paint left,(sparkle red) I would spray some in the lid or a containers and dab the paint in to the chipped areas. Or tape off and a quick hit of red. If you have clear coated it and it has cured, you should be ok taping off and giving a light touch up. Then a bit more clear. ✌🏻

I have a couple of these Crystal Skull Vodka mini bottles, I thought they would make a great tail light. I found and LED 9 volt setup with a switch for $7 which lights up pretty well. I like them so much that I bought a set of 5 more with a variety of colors. I had this piece of copper tubing...

For this build off, I thought that building this step thru bike with a Halloween them would be fun. I started researching witches and came upon Lamia.

Thank you @OddJob i am very pleased how it came out. And it was relatively simple. I happened to hit up a hobby store and found the Krylon Metallic Rose Gold spray paint. The match is awesome. This bike sat in the elements before I received it so the wheels have a little bit of fade in the...

Lamia is mostly complete, minus the 3 speed set up, grips and skull tail light. I’m working on getting a front light active. She will be ready for a ride soon. Just in time for Halloween. 🎃

Last minute change. I purchased a crank a few months ago because I liked the design, a spiderweb/snowflake look to it. Didn’t think about using it originally, when I needed to change from my original choice that provided chain alignment issues. It caught my eye today on the build I had it...

So I got the plate in this weekend and it lines up perfectly with the holes on the bb. I didn’t realize how small this plate was. I have a close idea of what the model number is and more confident with the serial number. Model number 189 8 9A32 (middle 8 may be 3) Serial number A0248077 hope...

After clear coating my test piece and much consideration, I have decided not to clear coat at all and leave the nice texture and satin finish. If it scratches, oh well. It was an easy paint job. So I get to start the assembly sooner! It’s getting cool and today and is a borderline painting day...

Here it is! My first full, finished lace paint job. This was the challenge to myself in this build off, which is something I have done on all my build off builds. Do something I have never done before. I had an idea of how to attempt a lace paint job, spending a bit of time watching how to’s. I...

I have two coats of rose gold down. I’m really happy with the color I found. Krylon Rose Gold. It matches well enough to the rose colored rims I’m using from the donor Electra bike. Had planned to get it a closer match but I’m ready to get things together and don’t want risk mixing the paints...

I spent a couple of hours getting the lace on the fender. I did it in one shot and did the best I could to keep it centered. The lace can rip so I don’t want to move it much. All panels are ready to be painted. First layer will be a rose gold.

I got the third and final coat of black on Lamia. Then I hit the inside of the fender one more time. I have just a little bit of black left for any boo boo’s Since I will be clear coating the fender and tank to set the lace paint in, I will clear the frame too. Hopefully by Sunday I can clear...
