    New wheel to wide...

Bought new set of wheels for my garage sale find, a Columbia cruiser. Original wheels (rims) were all but gone. Super excited to get them, ripped off the original wheels and went to put on the new ones but the spindle (axle?) is to wide for the bike. I have only checked the front wheels though...

    For a smile: millstone-rat

Forget the tube and pump to change the tire...you need a hammer and chisel.

    The heart attack (riding pics)

Re: The heart attack What if you did something like this? Copy your top tube and lengthen it of course but use it as the chain stay. Mount the bottom bracket under it at the intersection of the down tube and the chain stay. Look for black dot.

    Fat Giant Simple Cruiser

Spent 9 days in Australia many many years ago. Ended up being able to go to a semi playoff game between Canberra and Sydney...the atmosphere was electric! It was straight out of Hollywood when the crowd broke out singing the team's song. That doesn't happen here in the states. The guys next...

    Designing a Bike

Most bikes here are pre-existing I know but there seems to be a growing number of one -off bike builds happening or at least a growing interest in doing so. My question to those that have done a design/build project is this, how do you design the bike? Here's what I am thinking. I have a...

    Welding Equip.

Thank you all for your replies.I have learned a lot and have gotten a few good ideas. One thing though about brazing tubes...doesn't this bring into the equation ones ability to cut the tubes to more exacting tolerances? With the Mig/Tig type welding (in my humble uneducated guess) the...

    Newbie Bike builder

Just sitting here wasting time at work thinking of a bike design and sketching it out...a couple of questions. 1. What is the diameter of a standard head tube? 2. Is it possible to use 2 inch diameter tubing for the top tube and the down tube when using a standard head tube?

    Where would you put it?

Thought about bending it? By that I mean bend it to where the outside of the curve is facing the chain stays and rear tire and the last couple of inches of the seat tube (at the top) is completely vertical.
