After riding the bike a couple miles today, I am disappointed in the ride of the fork. I will look for firmer springs. Out of the saddle pedaling is like a circus ride the way it bobs up and down. Regular seated pedaling is acceptable.

If you keep those springs or add new ones, you can tone down that zinc finish by soaking them overnight in lemon juice or vinegar.

You need to make it a rigid like I did for my bee hive. find some spacers or standoffs that fit inside the springs and over the guide.

I gotta say, I've wanted one of these forks for four years and now I don't know why. They may look good, but they don't work well.

I rode Stevils Roadmaster at Monson with those forks and I thought it was great. :wink: It was a spongey ride, but was real smooth 8)

I like the new springs though, they look nice :wink:

Yes, the plus is that it's super smooth, like a Lincoln.

I have a set of these really nice curvy mid rise apes I bought from Joe that just might look good. I Also have a nice plain mid rise set that would not distract from the rest of the bike. If you wanna try them, you can come down tonight. text or call. Boy might have practice but we can work around that.

I think I like this. Seems to fit the attitude of the bike better.

Skip, I thought I already had it!! Sheeze.

The last thing to do was make a kickstand extender. I used a spoon from our honeymoon resort that "somehow" ended up in my suitcase.

Found an old acorn nut to fasten it

Finally done:

My MIL is taking pictures of it this Saturday and I'll put it in the finished section that night.
