@2wheels had asked for some detail shots.
Headtube. I don't have the shroud, but this still has some cool lines. My RRB 010 Headbadge will probably go here.

Bottom Bracket with shroud removed. The block of wood is to screw the repop plastic shroud halves to.

Big fender brace. This also would have been the mount for the rear battery pack and rack (which I don't have). I plan to use this big brace as a spot to mount up some additional seat support though.

Beautiful looptail dropouts.

HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!!!!
Well when I put the bearing cups on the headtube and then slid the fork on, I realized right away that the steertube was too short!!!!:mad::crazy2::mad::mad:
No way am I changing forks, so I guess I'll have to do some cutting and get someone to weld up an extension for me.

I plan on running with this Felt El Guapo wheelset and Thick Brick Whitewall tires that I got from @DJ-FADES
index.php

The rear wheel/tire fit fine. When I tried the front one, the Thick Brick rubbed the pivots I expected

Had some dirty Kenda 24x2.175 Whitewalls, so I changed out the tire and did some cleaning.
It looks pretty good on that fat rim!

Looks like once that fork is fixed you will be well on your way King!

Luke.

More pics to come, but I just had an idea. I wonder if I can use a threaded to threadless adapter to extend the steer tube?

ROLLING CHASSIS!
Well I removed one of the bearing cups for now so that I could get a rolling chassis.
Good clearance on the tire now too.
I LOVE THESE FAT FELT RIMS!!!

Ya know as much as I like the parts your using in this build , I think I like the pond more ( I have this thing for moss ):grin:
Did I ever mention I have a sister in-law, a nephew and my father in-law living in Savannah ?
Mark

Queenfish will be proud to hear that! Our courtyard garden and pond are her baby. She actually hates it when I use it for my mockups. She doesn't like those rat bikes messing up her courtyard.

It's obvious that the Elgin Twin doesn't have a seat tube, so here is what they did to mount the seat and seatpost. This cool double clamp that you can adjust up and down the frame to the position you want. I am putting mine all the way back and still need to work up some laid back seatpost and additional seat bracing to get the saddle where I want it. Here are some very rough mockups. The final seat position will probably up just a little and back a little too.
I am using this PHAT Lepper Primus Saddle that I got from @ilikebikes

Actually it makes a very photogenic backdrop :113:

Yes it does! And you made her day!! You should come out and visit your family and see it in person.

Here are some mockups with the seat and BB Shroud in place too.

And one final pic for the night. The BB Shroud. This is a plastic (but well made) repop.
(Actually this is just one half of it installed)

Yep, KF I think you can cut that tube at the lower third, put a piece of pipe in that fits the inside tight, drill a couple holes that go thru both pieces and plug weld it. Maybe a smooth shoulder bolt will help with the tire clearance too. Ah, just thinkin' out loud. Your bike is gonna be trick/slick...

Carl.
