Random experiment break. While pulling a tool out of the shop, I saw this shaker that I bought from Goodwill and remembered an odd idea that I had. Took a short break to do a simple mockup to test the idea before getting back on the forks. This is a very incomplete test and just an idea placeholder.

Got the Evanaction disassembled easily. This one is in excellent condition. Even the plastic bushings are in great shape.

Just made a cool discovery. You can change the bugeye light batteries by removing one screw and sliding the each unit out the front. One more screw gives you access to the bulb.
And it is Made In Italy. Does that mean it is one of those Frah Gee Lay major award electric sex lamps?

Actually, my idea here would involve paint along the lines of a long Von Dutch flying eyeball

Dug through my old paint cans. None of these are quite right. The sunrise red is toi vibrant. The matte colonial red is too dull. And the two hammered ones just aren't right. Gonna head out to shop for something better.

Didn't find any paint at Walmart, but I did find the ping pong balls I need for another build experiment. As I went to self checkout @Dr. Tankenstein was walking up at the same time.

Looks like an @OddJob -inspired color palette!

Can't really trust the plastic lids but the one on the right looks the closest IMO.

I've used the Colonial Red and the Hammered Brown before, but the Regal Red is a new one to me.
When you say you like the one on the right, which photo are you referring too. The order of the cans is different in the two pics

Ah yes, the trusty Colonial Red. That paint turns up in so many build offs.

Broke out my annual paint tester fender. Colonial Red on the short end. Hammered Brown in middle. Regal Red on long end. Right away, I can see that the Regal is brighter Red than the Colonial.
