Was planning on pulling the bike out this morning and contemplating what's next. But just after breakfast a tenant called to let me know the tub water valve wouldn't turn the water off completely. So I've been a plumber replacing a Moen water valve

Used some white electrical tape to mockup the fork white. Decided to test both solid white and outline white. I like solid better. Of course it wouldn't be solid solid . I think I should tape off the area that is supposed to be white and the do the mustard the have the white areas have that same decay pattern as the red does.

Tried out the flat black stem.

Found these red pedals. Think I'm gonna swap to them. Not as chunky or wide, but they just match so well.

I think I'll do these white darts on the red wing cones

I really like the Rat Fink head badge. Now with your ratina on the fork, I'm not as excited about the Rat Fink topper, I'd say let the fork stand out on its own. When I look at this photo, everything works together well, but the shifter handle and stem have too 'modern' of a shine in my eyes. Maybe a rub down with the vinegar / water mix on a #0000 steel wool to just tone it down and bring it closer to the natural old chrome of the fork braces?

If you could get it to look similar to the chain guard, that would be ultimate! @The Renaissance Man ? Thoughts?
I just have posted on my Hops journal about chrome. I'm still searching for the magic bullet but haven't found it yet. My best guess is basically what you said, dull it down with abrasives. If you're looking for rust, I'm still not sure.

They look like Torrington 10's maybe, from either a kids or a ladies bike. The color is spot on.

Yes, they are ladies pedals, so a little narrower but I've ridden with them before. They probably are Torringtons too, they spin like a dream. The color and aging about as perfect as it gets for FOOLIGAN.

One of my neighbors, that hadn't seen the bike in awhile, looked over the courtyard wall and said "Oh wow, it looks like Tron or Buck Roger's, so cool!". I joked with him that it was like Fred Sanford meets Buck Roger's. 😆
He's actually the second person that mentioned the original TRON movie while looking at this bike.

Here is the view he had.

Picked up some Ivory Bisque to match the tank white.

Nice work on the fender button aging so far. I don't think I'll go that route for the stem. I liked the black of the simpler bmx stem, but I wasn't a fan of the actual stem. Think I am going to use this one, but I may just knock it down with more black. I don't want it to match the bars, but rather have a muted contrast.

Removed the fork to start some masking off.

Here is the tape mockup of the color scheme I want for the fork cones. I decided to leave the wing with a brushed look rather than polish so that it will tie in with the Mooneyes.

Taped off all of the wing surfaces and did my three layers of underpaint
