Slipped the front wheel and handlebars on and got some pics of it all with the red forks

I withdraw my white paint on the cover suggestion. That looks great all red!

It may have merit with some smaller detailing in white up there. Who knows. I have to let it all sink in and stare at it and the pics for awhile. Regardless, I do love how the fork blends with the bike now. I'm a happy man.

Head badge👍
Fork topper 👎
White accents on the fork top 👍👍👍👍👍

Thanks for the input. RatFink (both badge and topper) are just an experimental option thus far.
Even a possibilty of using ping pong balls where the tank bugeye lenses are and flying eyeball wings painted on the sides of the tank. :D :D :D Seriously, that is one experimental possibility.

Would you mind humoring me, and trying the butterscotch gribs with the gold cone/wing tips? 🙏

Grips are a big pain to remove and put on for these bars, otherwise I would test it. But I know I don't want gold wing cones and gold wing tips though. I understand that looking down from the cockpit it would appear to match up with the sweep of the handlebars. But from every other vantage, it doesn't do anything for me.
I really appreciate the idea, but sorry brother.

I understand completely

I think the pairing was obvious to most of us, I just had to see it in white after the red fork was in place!

Looking good Brian and I love the polished wing! :)

I have some white tape I can mock up the shroud sections tomorrow. It's sort of an inverse of what I did for the shroud on VerBoten.

Glad you like the wing. The polished wing sections is what I did on VerBoten as well and I've loved it. Right now it's only been steel wooled. No real polish yet.

Here is another option I tested late today. These Indian skull warbonnet stickers arrived this afternoon, so I tried them along with the Indian headbadge. Another experiment.

Dig the headbadge.
Custom made? Or rare find?

I got this from Smoopy over 10 years ago. There was a guy that used to make headbadges and sell them back then. This was a new repop or custom. Never has been curved to a headtube yet.

I really like the Rat Fink head badge. Now with your ratina on the fork, I'm not as excited about the Rat Fink topper, I'd say let the fork stand out on its own. When I look at this photo, everything works together well, but the shifter handle and stem have too 'modern' of a shine in my eyes. Maybe a rub down with the vinegar / water mix on a #0000 steel wool to just tone it down and bring it closer to the natural old chrome of the fork braces?

If you could get it to look similar to the chain guard, that would be ultimate! @The Renaissance Man ? Thoughts?

I'm still mulling over headbadge options.
I am also leaning away from both the Indian ideas and the kustom kulture ideas (with the exception of maybe just the RF headbadge).
I'm fine with the chrome on the shifter arm and probably won't tone that down, but I definitely see your point with the stem. The newness of the stem has gotten comments from various tourist fans of the bike on my rides. In other words it stood out as not fitting the rest. I think it is too bright against the bars and such. I'll either paint it or replace it. I seem to remember one of my early test stems was a flat black simpler bmx stem. I'll try that today.
Thanks for the feedback.

This is hot! The patina work on the fork came out great. I like the vintage crust with the shiny bits too. The white accents on the fork are the bomb! Great work, it's looking really good. 😎 👍

Thanks! I'm happy with the results so far. Still gotta work out the white on the forks, that one pic was just photoshop from TRM.
I really like the blend of ratty and shiny as well. Kinda like when you have an old Chevelle beater car, and you come across a deal on some shiny Cragar SS mags
