The tradition of the previous winner building the following Build Off's winner was actually an early RRB BO tradition. I just brought it back to life. Sadly, as the winner of BO15, I have been slack about preparing a Build Off 16 trophy for @CruJones for his valiant Class 1 Traditional win with "Rocky" last year. I was hoping to have it done soon, but don't have the time until after BO17. My plan is to use this helmet I bought and make a crest to match his fender and chainguard and then also add a rocketeer-like faceshield. I have all of the materials and I promise it will take a high priority once BO17 is over.

Okay, I don't have a special name for my award yet, but what I'd like to offer as a prize is a custom illustration for the bike that finishes in 17th place in Class 1. In my first Build Off 2 years ago, I finished in 17th place in Class 1, so I want to offer a prize for whoever finishes in the same place I did during my first Build Off. I figure it's also fitting, since this is the 17th annual Rat Rod Bikes Build Off!

To give you an idea of what kind of illustrative work I do, here's a sample of some of my previous works:

Big props to @Palepainter for his behind the scenes work for BO17. He created some custom t shirt art for us but we just couldn't pull it all together in time. No fault of anyone. We tried so many avenues and sources to no avail. Couldn't find the right combination of lead time, allowing pre orders, and handling the shipping. The stars were not aligned

Since this is Build off 17 (the first one I have entered) + my birthday is on the 17th of April + my first bike at 12 was a Roadmaster 10 speed (a fake one though like my build off bike La Fugazi) + CWC built Roadmasters are among my favourite bikes + the cost to send anything from Australia is hideously expensive, I'll have one of these awesome 122 page books compiled by the owner of the Cabe mailed to the owner of the bike which finishes in 17th place in Class 1.

I was really bummed out that I was not able to get your prize shipped out last year. We had several people willing to pitch in on the cost and then I was informed at the post office that NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING was being accepted to Australia because of some COVID related policy.

I still have the prize boxed up and ready to go so maybe some of the lost minds have been found now that COVID has lost some of it's political power and we can try again.
