1-1/8" headtube in a frame made for 1" headtube

I want to install a Felt Abraham Linkage fork in a 50's Monark frame........is this possible?.....please help........frame accepts 1" headtube...fork is 1-1/8" headtube.

Some 1" frames will work with certain 1 1/8 "outer bearing races, hopefully some one with detailed info will catch this post. :|

I have run a 1 1/8 fork on a '49 Monark. I just had to rummage through my parts bin to find a combination of bearings and cups that worked.

what about getting a 1 1/8" steel tubing with inner diameter the same size as the outer head tube. Cutting and welding needed.

I think he's going the "other" way.....Big fork tube in a small head tube

That is what I did. By splitting the original 1 inch tube down the middle it expanded enough to allow me to slide in the 1 1/8 tube then welded them together. The new tube just happened to be longer but that did not matter. As long as the new one is at least as long.
