aren't they made for wide rims ? i think you would need the wide BB to go with it (like on schwinn OCC bikes)

I think it is more typical to specify the distance between the locknuts. But I have never seen a bike with 170mm spacing.

Where do you find a coaster with 130mm spacing?

Thanks

Pete

Schwinn Stingray/OCC choppers have that wide spacing.

There is not a single speed coaster brake with 130mm spacing. You can try respacing your frame or adding a longer axle and spacers to your coaster brake. If you add the spacers you may need to add more to one side than the other, then dish your wheel.

I found this Velosteel hub on line. Looks like it has a few different spacing options.

I don't have any experience with them though.

I tried a red band on a bike with 130mm spacing. I added some spacers on either side, the axle was long enough. The problem was that the reaction arm was too far inboard. When I put a strap around the chain stay, it just didn't line up right. I guess I would need to change the spacing to fix that problem.
