Here she is my first Pre-war, this build is most likely going to be slow as it's getting cold here in Idaho. And I tend to dislike working in a cold workshop. But I hope to have her finished by the end of fall.

Found this in Seattle Washington, got it from a antique shop right on the docks the guy that had it new what it was but also did not. example, he had about 10 Schwinns from the 50's for about $850 to $1200. and this was siting outside his shop for $350, then I talked him down to $300.

Alright I started in on the beauty, what can I say this was the easiest bike I have ever broke down. It must have lived it's whole life indoors.

Looking good! The frame may have gotten a repaint is maybe why nothing was hard to break free. My 46 CWC was that way, had been repainted and was easy to take apart. But it had no original paint anywhere unfortunately. From the looks of your fenders and fork, the original red may be fairly good on the frame.

yes I was wondering why the paint on the fenders was a little more sun baked then the frame, but as I was taking apart the bike I found the preserved paint on the under side of the fenders and steer tube and it's to good of a match to be a repaint, I think the fenders just aged badly red paint never really survives that well, my 48 Schwinn DX that was maroon red originally has nothing but the rusty primer left.

That's nice! What's the plan?

really good clean, new grease on the the bearings, fresh tires and maybe some boiled linseed oil.

Just ordered some fresh rubber, went with some Felt Quick Bricks in all black :cool2:.

Is it just me or is the fork bent?
You might want to check it over well before you ride.

Aside from that it's a great looking bike, the linseed oil works wonders.
