1948 Hiawatha makeover

I have not built much this last year stayed busy with life .( two surgeries, 16 and 18 year old boys)..I did find time to do some rides. this bike i bought didnt seem to fit or ride very well so i gave it a make over this summer, smaller bars, removed laid back seat post. but it still seems off..so i am going to try again this is when i bought it.

so far i found a bent front fork cant believe i didnt notice it before and probably one reason it rode bad..I am taking off the bendix 2 speed manual hub it has left me stuck in low gear twice now about 5 miles from home it is VERY picky on adjustment..I am going to lace up a 2 speed kick back that i have

so far i have ordered a springer fork and decided on these 24x3 FAT white walls

Love it! Straightening out that fork should make it a much better rider!

Now that you said something, you can see the forks are bent in your second picture, but it's really not obvious.

I know. I couldnt believe I never noticed. Maybe the truss rods were messing with me

Yes Schwinn type. Alan is lacing the kick back hub for me right now

Still waiting for my new wheels to get laced to my 2 speed kick back..I mounted up some single speed wheels so i can get her on the ground and take a look
