1949 Schwinn Straight Bar

Made another night time 4 hour round trip to get a bike.
This time it was this 1949 Schwinn Straight Bar
I have a couple of DX's but this is my first straight bar.
Fenders, frame, guard, fork, struts, bars and stem are supposedly original.
Black spray bomb over top of red and cream house paint. We'll see what's underneath

Thanks. Made the correction. Just repeating what the seller said before getting a little Schwinn edjamuhcation first.

Defiantly worth a road trip!!! My 50 model rides like a caddy. Still need a correct front fender for it.

Hope it has clean original paint under that black.

Even if they sanded it down (doesn't look like it) it's a great find. The rear of the chain guard should be inboard of the seat stay, probably will need some tweaking.

The one pic I had of the Schwinn was definitely a few years ago probably right after he spray bombed it.
Here is how it stands now with only the rack removed.
There are enough spots here and there that I can tell the OG was green. The paint is nicked down to bare metal on a great deal of the top bar.
