This is one of my bikes, a 1960 Diamant "Touren-Sport". I bought for 38€ in this condition:

The crankset was worn out, the fenders resolved, the brakes didn't work and the handlebar/ stem-combination was broken and rustet within the steering tube. BUT it had a nice worn paint and a cool old "Möwe" saddle in quiet good condition.

1. Step:
Disassembly of everything that is not needed...

As the wheelset was wrecked too, step 2 followed:
Disassembly of the whole bike, cleaning, gathering new and new old parts...

The "Renak" front hub:

The new old NSU crankset:

Painting the new 26" alloy rims:

Step 3:
Reassembly of everything and first testride with the old "Renak" singlespeed hub

At this state the bike ran quiet good and was incredibly fast but i wanted to spice it a bit up...

Step 4:
Replacing the "Renak" hub with a old "Sachs Torpedo" 3-speed hub and adding the old renewed "Rasant" brake...

And finally with installed and repainted "Union" headlight:

Oh, and the Fat Franks worked fine without cutting and welding the frame. In the back 2-3mm are left and in the front 4-5mm...

Build turned out good. Your area has some really awesome views too. Its funny how fast cream tires get dirty

That first picture under "Step 4" with the lighting the way it was looks almost like flat orange and is totally giving me inspiration for a fat tire track bike I'm building to start training on cause I need to shed some winter weight this coming Spring.

Great work, Later Travis

Thank you all for the positiv feedback! This bike was my first build up and it seems to be a strike. It is even considered to be one of the most beautiful ballon bikes in whole Germany  ...
