I found the frame at a swap meet the weekend that built off #9 ended. The stem was frozen in the fork tube along with the kickstand and seat post. The stem, fork and kickstand cooperated in my efforts to give the frame a second chance in life. The seat post is still stuck but I have an alternate plan for it.

I had the Schwinn stem coated but may use a thread less adapter that fits the 7/8" fork tube. I have several bar options.

Thinking I will use these Continental RetroRide tires with vintage tread pattern. They are a cream color and not as white as the photo shows.

Need shorten the seat post a bit. Also need to clean up chain guard

Like the Hammered look....Did you use a spray?...Great job
Thanks. The finish is powder coat, gold vein, see the chip towards middle of post.

bike is lookin real nice, great work, the vain/hammered look has always been a choice of mine if I want to do something different,I did a racing bike frame back in england in the mid 80's with silver hammerite and a blue candy over the top done with spray cans, candy was hard to get at the time but going onto R.A.F mildenhall which supports u.s airforce allowed access to u.s imported goods,so I was like "check out my BLUE hammerite" don't think anyone clicked that it was candy on top

Changed out the spindle to a 122mm from a 130mm version. That helped the chain line and will allow the chain guard to fit. Also put the kickstand in place.
Waffling on whether to cleanup chainguard and install maintaining the bikes heritage or clean, repaint and add repop graphics to it.

I'd say at this point you would be free to do whatever suits you on the chain guard. I like those Corvette chain guards alot! I was thinking what would it look like chrome and gold vein powder coat together? Nice bike.... l gotta get started on my Corvette some day.

Stripped the chain guard down to chrome. Masked off non paint area and shot it with oil rubbed bronze. Similar to frame coat.
Decided to add bullet light to front. Scrounged up some parts and material in shop area, threaded rod, washers, nuts, square tubing, pipe hanger strap, bullet light. The following are mockup pics.

Cool idea on that light mount!

Luke.
Thanks! Trained to be a tool designer, worked as a shop teacher and architectural designer during my employed years. Don't have access to many tools being retired. I just take stuff I have, find or can purchase cheaply and figure out a way to turn them into something.
I've never seen the bracket concept used previously although I assume someone has. I made a similar bracket for another bike with a springer fork using the SQ tubing so I still had a piece around. Some of the hardware was left over from BONINE.

Added paint on tube, fit the light back in place. Changed out the head badge, going to try to get the letters on the yellow one to show as bare metal. Need to put graphics on chain guard. Otherwise this one is more or less done.

Everything looks good, how about a shot of the whole bike now? I need to see the complete package!
