1965 SCHWINN COLLEGIATE (TEAR DOWN)

You know you're in trouble when your LBS that takes trade-ins starts calling you to let you know about
bikes that they just got. :shock:

This one has some interesting features like a working Schwinn speedo, Schwinn stamped brake calipers
and a dérailleur guard.

Not quite sure what I am going to do with this one...I think the speedo may end up on my 1960 Spitfire.

The chrome on the wheels is toast...too much rust to save them.

Seems like it has a Raleigh stem also...but maybe it's original???

yep raliegh stem and bars
swap the eyestabbers off of it clean it up and craigslist it

Doesnt look like a raleigh stem to me
but its long like one

Nice speedo. Headlight too. I'm sure the chrome is too far gone but you could paint it.

Been doing a little part swapping...

Didn't get a chance to clean or detail it yet, but it should end up looking pretty sweet.

:lol: i thought you were slippin at first Steve, i saw the greasy thumb prints on the whitewalls and had to wipe off my screen to make sure i wasnt seein things :lol:
