Re: 1968 Sears Screamer 1 - 5 speed stick! (find of the year!)

anybody know how the parking brake is supposed to work?
each brake lever on the handlebars goes to one of the back dual brakes.
no extra cable for the parking brake.
anybody have any experience with this?

btw, its cleaning up really nice.

but!!!! i rubbed a bit of the chainguard decal red off with just a paper towel.
not much though....that screenprint on chrome is very fragile.

I must be going through my second childhood, or just never grew up... yea, thats it, the latter. I wanna muscle bike again! Great deal!

That bike is great. In that condition is almost unheard of. He could have gotten a hundred easy.

One lever on the top tube is dangerous enough, but the brake lever really adds to the equation.

What i find sometimes helps with the fragility of decals on chrome is Kit scratch out; if you rub it gently on with a wet rag and gently off with a dry, very soft rag it sometimes helps...? Cool find! :D

the parking brake is just that pull the lever back and it pulls one of the brake calipars..be very carful when cleaning the guard the screen paint on them is very fragil..if your not carful you will wipe all the paint off of it, and finding one with that nice of paint on there is rare.. if you have any questions about cleaning it fell free to email me at [email protected] here is a picture of mine..

Wow, what a beauty! Nice work on cleaning it, it's perfect! A NOS Sears 16 inch tire would be hard to find for the front, but I think that would be well deserved. :D

That's wild! Both brake levers operate the rear brakes. AND then there's parking brake.

Hard to Give a Value in this economy, But I would Guess 600+ being it is so clean! More if the Paint on the chain guard didn't come off..
