So it's been a long time since I had a fresh find. I didn't even find this bike, it found me. A guy at my work asked me a few weeks ago if I was still interested in bikes. Of course I am...got him to bring it in for me. No pics yet as it's still in my car. But, it's a burgundy colored, large frame Sport Tourer. Never really knew much about these bikes, but after a little research, I have discovered they were pretty darn nice in their day. 2nd to only the Paramount in the Schwinn lineup. As far as I can tell, it is all original except for cables, bar tape, tires, and the seat. He was quite happy to explain to me that the seat he put on was much more comfortable than the original. I told him if he still had it I would give him more money for the original seat...I'm not sure if he believed me.
I think I finally have a vintage road bike for myself! I wish Steve (Rat Rod himself) lived closer. I would have him work his Schwinn magic for me. This is gonna clean up real nice! Photos later, I promise!
