1972 Huffy Slingshot

[CRASH]

This project was originally going to be a mini-build off. I had come across this NOS seat and bought it.

A friend of mine, @JNOACK had the same seat. So we were going to figure out our projects and put them to the test. So I hunted down a project and found bits and pieces to put together a Huffy Slingshot.

But life got in the way and I had to move, so I wanted to get it done. So I got going and didn't keep a chronicle of the build. I just did it over some months. Today I finished it.

Makes sense, couldn't figure out the action. Never seen that before, really fills the space nicely above the small wheel

Great looking bike. I especially love the chain guard and the extended top tube. I remember these bikes equipped with the fake spring suspension, or maybe just an early Rad Rod styling. I really liked the extended front end Sting Ray type bikes because then a bigger teenager could ride the bike without stuffing your knees into your mouth. K Mart used to carry a lot of this style of bike in the 60's and 70's,
