1977 Stingray 3speed

Showed up in the mail today. Was surprised to find it on original tires. Although the Scrambler BX rear was shot. Looks like the sissy bar got bent and they parked it.

Promptly replaced with a slik

It will get original grips, but look how super 70s these are

Seat is pretty good too if I can get it tucked in. Can anyone point me in the direction of a “how to” thread for that?

Googled the address and turns out it’s still a bike shop. Schwinn signs still on the building!

Realized I never updated this after clean up, I’m incredibly bad at remembering to circle back.

pulled it apart for cleanup and a little period correct upgrade

Good old 333 click-shift

Works like a dream even though it’s connected to a sturmey-archer hub.

Not sure if I’ll eventually put some narrower bars on it but it’s a rider regardless.
