I just looked at one and have the opportunity to buy it later today. I didnt have my phone with me at the time so I dont have a pic to show you. It's red w/ yellow (i think) fenders. It looks to be all original but pretty weathered all the way around. The kickstand had to be forced to go down. The banana seat is there but split open and molded. The tires & handlebars weren't BMX style. If I can get a pic a little later I will, but based on this info, what would be a good price for it? Its at a yard sale that has a bunch of Walmart bikes for &10-$20 and I think the owner is seeing dollar signs since this one is a Schwinn. Thanks in advance!

Re: 1978 Schwinn Mini Scrambler

In that condition I'd try to get it at $20-$30. Just remind him that condition is everything when it comes to vintage bikes and it is in rough condition and has non-original parts. Also remind him the smaller the bike the less collectible it is, if it were a mag scrambler it would be worth more but it's not. That will make you sound knowledgable without ticking him off.

Thats kinda what I as thinking too. It would be neat to have but it would only be a collection piece since both my boys are way too big for it. It's not a MUST HAVE bike. But if somebody on here is looking for one let me know ASAP and I'll do what I can for ya.

I finally got to go back to check it out. Turns out its a Mini Stingray and not a Mini Scrambler. He shot the price of $20 so I took it. It appears to be all orig except for the grips. I'll pick it up tomorrow when I get off work. Here's a pic:
