1978 Schwinn Speedster

Got this 24" Speedster yesterday and it checks out to be a Feb. 1978 model. To me it just screams out for low rise ape hangers, short sissy bar, and nanner seat. what do you think ?
It has rear one speed shamano coaster brake and front hand brake with S6 rims.

id get rid of fenders ..stuff biggest tire u can in there nanner n some short apes ...yep !!!! post pics as ya go !!!

Giving it a big 'Fastback' look would be cool, but you'd have to cut those fenders down to give it more of a muscle look.

At this point I'm thinking no fenders. Tire options are very limited I think with these S6 rims, 24x1 3/8 black or gum wall.
Saw a really nice one that had black 1 3/8 tires, no fenders, low apes, red banana seat,and it was red. Tempted to go red but I don't know...original paint is not bad, it just needs decals.

By the way... Kingfish is selling 5-speed stick shifters. Get a 5-speed hub and cluster, then a second brake assembly, and you really could have a big Fastback!

That is very cool. Looks like a Manta Ray, but needs a stick shifter.
