I saw this on eBay and had to have it. I received it on Wednesday.
I will get it moving and post more.
I’m only 5’6 so I hope it shrinks down!

You have a pretty special bike there. That front suspension is exquisite. How many gears in the hub? It is classy, and still has room for improvement and customization.

It's a rare and interesting fork. Not many people could afford one at the time.

Well, I got to work and right out of the gate several things came to light, tires rotted, chain frozen brakes didn’t work.
I went through these items and the hard part was getting the back wheel off! This thing was high tech for 1998 but pretty crude these days.
it appears that this bike has been sitting it’s whole life and and just banging around the house for 25 years! I get to be the first one to detail this bike.
so, new tires, chain (store the fenders) and a couple adjustments and here it is.
thank god it shrunk down enough for me to fit on!

This is a neat bike. I like the fenders, they make it look even more unique.
I disagree. The color combo is nice, but I feel that a fender detracts from the fork. To me, that Amp suspension is the star of the show. Either way, it's cooler than most of my fleet.

The AMP Research is one great Bike!!!
I have owned an AMP B-4 since I bought it new in 1994. Not a Mercedes bike though. Not painted. All aluminum, color-wise, but a ..... to keep clean!!!
I rode around 17 miles on it just this morning. I have likely put 18 to 20 thousand miles on it over the years. I wore out the original Shimano XT components a few years ago.
Mine came with carbon fiber front fork tubes, and I added a carbon handlebar to replace the original aluminum bar. (But I still have the original bar, and worn out components.)
It weighs in the neighborhood of 24 pounds. Not bad for a full suspension bicycle.
The disc brake design is touted as the very first bicycle Disk setup that actually worked and the rear suspension design is the basic design for many others to follow. Supposedly designed bu a guy named Horst, or something like that.
The only way anyone will get mine is to pry it from my cold dead hands!!!

This bike moved right to the top of my favorite list. It rides like a dream and I can’t wait to start polishing all that aluminum.
Thanks for all the conversation and here are most of the specs on this thing.
