Found these last week. Price was nice so I loaded them up. Left a nicer condition Newsboy Special behind.

Like I need two more house painted bikes but, I just couldn't let these just rust away in the guys scrap yard front yard.

N ice saves.
E xcellent bases for builds.
W hat a sweet pair, they say good things come in threes.
S hould clean up easily.
B oy, wish I could find 2 at a time.
O ne with a springer too.
Y ou could likely get the third stray for a deal if you went back again.
?
:)

I actually could have gotten the newsboy pretty cheaply.
The biggest issue was the rotted built in kickstand.
But I have his number in case.

That's totally understandable.
The one's you chose will make straight forward projects without the possible set backs of the stand issues. Enjoy your nice new finds.

Make 3 new project bikes.
Same scrapper, that called me back today to see if I still wanted the newsboy.
Cheap price so I loaded it up.

Looks like possibly a 1946 serial and badge.

"Westfield Mfg". Not the later of the Columbia built" badge of the 60s.

Can someone verify it is a 46?
Definitely a ballooner framed bike nit a middleweight.
Built in kickstand, as rough as it is.
Can't figure out the original colors yet. Could it be a green bike?
Military colors?
No signs of repaint.
Can't wait to see what this was and what it looked like new.

Not sure if the rear hub is period of correct. " MATTUCK USA" on the brake arm. Also has heavyduty spokes.
Possibly the rims aren't correct. Unless this is a military bike.....that would be cool.

Good Things come in threes!
I'm glad you got the Newsboy too and that we all get to enjoy your nice finds.
Good Luck with info gathering and working out the stand issue.

Dude, why don't you call me when you find these and there are ones you don't want? Granted, Donna would probably punch me in the throat if I brought home more bikes, but hey, it's cheaper than being a car collector.
