so i was told this was a 3 speed kick back hub,,or is it a 2 speed...
well Im in need of some info and someone to relace a hub...on a rim

You may also want to take a good look at those spokes as well, they look as though they may be 105 ga.And yes it is a Bendix 2 speed automatic AKA 2 speed kickback hub, never came in a 3 speed version. Re-lacing a wheel is not nearly as difficult as you may think, a re-pack of that hub is way more difficult than a wheel build.

The colors had nothing to do with the gear ratios. The one with 3 red bands was the first one, made '60-'64. The yellow and blue came out in '64 and the yellow replaced the red. They redesigned the brakes and went from discs to pads. The blue has overdrive and was made for 20" bikes. The ratios of the yellow and red bands are exactly the same. Gary
