Hi, Managed to finally get this one rolling thanks in no small part to some nice folks here on RRB who helped me get the parts I needed. This little bike has been more trouble than any 26" inch I've ever built. Mostly because I don't have a ton of 20" parts but also because it was built from parts that just refused to work together.
The frame I got from ebay a while back. Advertised as "good condition"... Showed up broken in two places and with a bent fork. (got my money back and got to keep the frame) Forced it back into shape and welded the broken bits. Decided to polish and clear coat rather than ruin the patina.
Still planning on putting much fatter tires on. I have a front wheel that's a match to the rear for but there's not clearance on the fork for a bigger tire. So that's a fastback wheel with a 1 3/8 tire on the front. I'll have to grind out the bottom of the springer to make it fit later. I have a matching front fender also. For now, it rides nice... and my 6 year old son thinks it's cool.
