20" Schwinn SpitFire

This is probably my favorite bike that I have other than my Schwinn Hornet. Has nice original paint, all I need to do is put a new set of tires and tubes on it because the ones on there right now are old and wont hold air. I had an old seat laying around that matched the paint on this bike well so I put it on there. The rims and sprocket cleaned up nice with a little bit of tin foil and rust remover.
***with later research i found out that this bike is a schwinn spitfire, not a tornado.

If those are Schwinn specific 20" tires I have a few laying around. Brand new. I also have a 26" version of the same bike for sale if interested.

That looks like a balloon tire bike and should have S-2 rims. Any 20 X 2.125 generic tire should fit. The seat you had on it in the first pic looks like a Schwinn B1 seat that was used on the B6 bike and others. Worth a few $$$. Gary

I guess it depends on if you need it on one of your bikes or not. It is definitely worth restoring. Good old seats are hard to find. Gary

My first bike was a Tornado (1962). Went through several sets of tires, became pretty good at power-slides. Mine, however, was not painted as ornately as this one. Great pick.

I would probably consider selling this bike for crazy money because i'd really like to keep it of if somebody wanted to trade for a 26" spitfire.
