20" Springer Fork Issue. Please Help.

What do I need to do here?

Do I need different parts? A whole new fork? What?

You should have a bolt that runs through the steer tube and both legs.

Does that steer tube have both ears at the bottom for the through bolt?

Good catch. I missed that.

That "top piece" is on there correctly.

If you flip it upside down you'll never get that fork assembled.

Looks like you may need a spacer like what I had to do on ZOOT

Or just cut it if you have enough threads on there...I didnt have enough threads.

Thread length is OK. Problem is the bottom of the steering tube does not line up with the holes in the fork's "legs". It's off by about an inch or more.

I'd unbolt it from the top mount, that will make it much easier to manipulate into place. Here's a pic of my old lowrider with a springer for reference.

Now that I casted a big eye at your pic again...

You need longer fork legs.

Like for a 26" Springer to make that work.

Then the Strut Rods will be too short. (I predict)

Oh yeah...Make sure you dont have those Fork Legs mounted upside down.

Legs are not upside down. Is this because it is a Schwinn frame. Head tube seems taller than most. Why should I have to put on a 24" or 26" legs for a 20" bike. There should really be a disclaimer.

You MIGHT be able to grind a half inch off the top and bottom of the steer tube to get the 1 inch you need to make it work. I've done this with a few frames but yours may be different.

May just squish and re-drill some new holes in the legs. We'll see. There is always a way.

So what's the fix for that? Do they make different forks for girls frames?

Find a longer steer tube or like was suggested earlier trim the head tube. I have trimmed down a few, cut it straight and use a file to take care of any imperfections.

Try loosening ALL those bolts (spring too) and YANK those legs down.

Springers CAN be a Real pain in the Sack sometimes.

I got a 26" Bent Springer on my 20" Bratz Grape Krate clone and it fought me.

I WON.

Oh yeah. I was the one that took it apart trying to get it all to fit together on the bike. I had to replace the steering tube. The one that came on it was 5 1/2" and I had to order one of the 7 3/4" to fit through the longer headtube.
