2001 Electra Classic Deluxe ASTRA-Bomber

My old Electra (a.k.a. Fickfrosch) will be my first project this year.
After that old ASTRA beer case was in the way for months now (yeah, the beer was good) somethin has going to happen with it.
Getting the money back for it and invest in some more bottles is to easy.

So I will make it a front rack for a beer transporter bike.

This is what it's going to look like (quick photoshop):

this is what's goint to happen:
- singlespeed with drumbrkes front and back (already here)
- candy red hubs (painting them right now)
- 24" candy red aluminum rims (already here)
- silver spokes and nipples (already here)
- black ThickBrick tires with red lines (already here)
- red anodized stem (already here)
- red anodized pedals (already here)
- all other parts silver, polished or red anodized (still need some)
- frame, fork and handlebars painted silver (maybe with red pinstriping)

since i can't find a red anodized 1" headset over here I painted one to match the hubs&rims

surprisingly not at all. I just droped the stem that I painted 10mins before to the floor and NOTHING happened. Great stuff!

I like the look of the candy red over the aluminum parts. That goes really well with the anodized components. The whole concept of a beer wagon bike is great. You'll be popular on the next cruise. :lol:

I'm gonna try to replace most of the anodized parts with painted parts for the exact same hue of the red. The stem really pops out - its more like pink.

So far:
painted the rear hub
painted the rear rim

got the paint for the frame and fork

Now it's waiting for the spokes to arrive and lace the wheels.
In the meantime I think about how to mount the beer case to the fork.

DesignIt: as far as the concern about me being the rolling bar at the cruises: I was wondering if I could make something like a lock for the bottles. Gonna have to figure that one out too.

Very cool, you have 1 more part to paint with the red! Leace the chainring silver, but the "star" holding it needs to be red.

Update. Yesterday the spokes arrived. Today I laced the wheels.
