2009 NEW BELGIUM SCHWINN

Happened to check the CL this afternoon and noticed an ad for a "Classic Schwinn" or something to that effect that had just been posted.

The price was just too dang good to pass up so I headed 30 minutes south of Dallas to grab this one before it got away.

The owner said he got it out of the box...put it together and then his wife rode it once down the driveway and back and then it went in the garage for the next 3 years. :mrgreen:

The front fender has a few scratches and the front headlight bezel is cracked, but other than that it's like new. After taking these photos I now realize that the fenders need a little massaging to be put back into shape.

I had fully intended to buy this bike to flip and then I got it home this evening and my wife and kids fell in love and now it may take up residence here. :?

I think it was the horn and headlight that did it for them. :lol:

Here is my 2009 New Belgium Employee Edition. I have been told only 50 or so made ? The red version were the ones that were sold and displayed in Liquor stores and bars. They are cool looking but I hate the gearing on it. I have seen the lights for sale somewhere, I will look again. It might have been on a Schwinn web page for accessories. Enjoy.

That is awesome! That is what I want to do with my wife's Schwinn. If you find out where those front lights are sold, please let me know. Heck, I'll bet that tank would fit perfectly inside her frame!

I've seen the chrome version of the light on Ebay, but no black versions.

Might have to settle for a chrome one made out of metal and just have it powder coated.

Or maybe Memory Lane has them.

Chrome actually works better for me. Does it have a particular name? Fender light, or something? I'll have to go try that.
