schwinn is starting to impress me again ! I like the new frame style, and a new bike with a 7 speed nexus for $400 aint bad neither :D

pic from bikeradar.com, you can see some other models thru google.

looks like the typhoon cord tires are getting ditched though :(

Wow, I love everything about that bike. The frame design is awesome. The cup holder is amazing. And, those handlebars are dope as hell. Would look great flipped. Im impressed. As much as I love an old rusty rat cruiser theres just something about new cruisers that is fun as well....

Found this other picture of that bike. Notice right behind the end of the cupholder under the frame is a built in bottle opener. Yes, I said BOTTLE OPENER!!!

The new guys' frames are pretty decent looking. I hope that these fall into their "sport cruisers" category and that they still produce the classic cantilever frame with the vintage-style paint jobs. Change can be a good thing. These new Schwinn's(men's frames) may not appeal to the majority of cruiser guys, but I'm sure Schwinn will sell a bunch. The built-in cup holder is pretty cool, but would be even cooler as an optional piece OR have an optional stylish non-cupholder piece that could go in it's place.

i believe its optional, the mark v is the only one ive seen with the cup holder on it, the panther and others dont in the stock pics and i dont know if those would even fit on the girls style bikes either.

Most makers have been using the plain short fenders for a few decades now, if any at all. Looks like the back one in the first photo needs a little fitting work, but I actually like it better than the big chrome Chinese dent bait that came on my Windwood.

not a fan at all! i cant believe you guys are raving so much about the cup holder. nasty, just plain u-g-l-y!
i'll stick to finding the older ones, but to each there own.

Suggests to me reversing a cantilever frame--so the seat stays meet the head tube above a downwardly curved crossbar.

Wonder if that's been done.

Quite a few early 60's bikes like that on here.

Not that into the cup holder, but the overall bike is something I would ride.

I love the frame style, the cup holder is just a bonus. Like you said to each his own and I will "own" one. Cant wait.

don't get me wrong, the side view looks good. i just dislike the frame around the cup holder.
how's the quality though?

Well im guessing made in china like usual, but one of the reasons I want it is because I feel I'tll be collectable in a few years. I'd maybe change the wheels with the felt quick bricks on blk 24" rims.

after how schwinn's name and value have slowly been going downhill for years, its nice to see that the folks over there at schwinn found theirselves with a electra or felt cataloge to copy off of for 2010 designs. the cup holder is kinda cool and i dig the new styles. i like the traditional, but to try something new, especially for schwinn, can't hurt.

the bike shop schwinns are decent quality, not the quality of the "tanks" they made in chicago, but ive had a handful of newer schwinns and have no complaints other than flimsy chainguards. the rest of the bikes seemed just as well built as any other new bike... i do think the mark V in the pics has some flimsy looking fenders on it though... but who knows if those are the actual fenders theyll use in the production bikes.
